Sugarfoot Stomp is a not-for-profit incorporated society, run by the vision and passion of its members. We teach vintage dances from the 1920s through to the 1940s, In Wellington and locally in Martinborough. We teach Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz and Charleston, Collegiate Shag, Blues.
Steph 'Rusty North' Fairless started up her beginners Solo Jazz and Charleston lessons back in April 2021 here in Martinborough. The Town Hall is the perfect venue and has a lovely dance-floor. They run in 6 week blocks but it’s never too late to join in even mid-block as new content is taught each week. No experience and partner needed, just turn up and enjoy!
Look out for her posters around the village and check out the website, Facebook and Instagram for the latest news and class blocks.
Originally from the UK, she settled in New Zealand back in 2016 and moved to Martinborough in October 2020. Steph has taught Solo Jazz and Lindy Hop in the UK, been involved in various performance troupes and competitions in Europe, she brings over 12 years of vintage dance experience with her.
Steph joined Sugarfoot Stomp in 2020, and as a former board member/current member, is now keen to extend the Sugarfoot Stomp community here in the Wairarapa. Her energy and love for vintage dance and music is infectious. Sugarfoot Stomp is also available for private, public or corporate performances, email us and we can talk.
