Opening the gates to some of Martinborough’s extraordinary houses and gardens, this tour offers something for all.  From historic houses to the cutting edge of modern design, cottage gardens, productive veggie gardens, and magnificent artwork inside and out. Each property – some never open to the public before – has its own charm. You'll walk away buzzing with ideas.

Thanks to generous home owners, you can visit 11 properties on this one-day, self-drive tour. Each will feature a stall run by a local craftsperson or producer.  Most properties are in and around the village – the furthest house is just 12km away.

For most, both house and garden are open; for a few properties, the focus is either on the garden only or the house only.  Grab your friends, and make a fun day of it. Drop into one of Martinborough’s cafes for lunch, coffee or a glass of wine. A list of local eateries will be included in the brochure.

All proceeds from the tour go to Wharekaka, Martinborough’s own aged care facility. Near the heart of the village, it is very much a part of our caring community.

The tour will go ahead whatever the weather. No children under 12 and please leave dogs at home. You will be asked to remove your shoes but we will provide shoe bags.
