TOAST MARTINBOROUGH BACK WITH EXCITING NEW OFFERING
Premier annual wine and food event Toast Martinborough will be popping the corks on an exciting new initiative at this year’s festival, on Sunday 16 January. Continuing with the winning formula of festival goers hopping on and off buses at participating wineries, a new multi-site for smaller wineries has been added to the line-up. Festival General Manager, Ariel Codde, says the new multi-site concept gives the opportunity for the smaller wineries to be involved.
There are around 40 wineries and vineyards in the iconic wine region, many of them small.
The four wineries confirmed for the multi-site are Big Sky, Butterworth Estate, Margrain and Nga Waka, along with five food offerings and live music. Butterworth Estate is owned by yachting legend Brad Butterworth.
The wineries on the Toast route include Ata Rangi, Escarpment, Palliser Estate, Tirohana Estate, Vynfields and, new to the festival, Moy Hall. Well known caterers and restaurateurs from the Wairarapa and Wellington regions will serve up a menu of carefully matched, restaurant-quality food, and some of New Zealand's most popular artists will perform.
Toast Martinborough has an established reputation as one of New Zealand's premier wine and food events. 2022 will be the 29th Toast Martinborough, and its aim is to surprise and delight festival goers. Codde strongly encourages wine and food enthusiasts keen to experience Toast Martinborough to act quickly and secure tickets. More than 85% of tickets are already sold!
"Toast is an amazing day that combines outstanding wines and superb food, mixed with fabulous live music and entertainment.
“It is the Best Sunday Ever in Martinborough, you won’t want to miss out, so get in quick and purchase your ticket.”
Festival goers from out of town will also have a new accommodation option, an all-inclusive Glamping Village package at the nearby picturesque Tauherenikau Racecourse, steeped in history, full of birdsong and set in native bush. Martinborough, is just over an hour’s drive from Wellington, is in the heart of the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail.
